Full-arch implants

All on 6 in Turkey: six implants under a fixed arch

Six implants per jaw give a full fixed bridge more support than four. This page explains when that extra support is worth it and how we carry it out.

Short answer

All on 6 in Turkey at Precious Dental costs £6,500 for both jaws in total, with implants, zirconia teeth, titanium bar, temporary teeth, extractions, X-rays, medication, hotel and transfers included. Six implants hold each fixed bridge, which spreads chewing forces and leaves some spare support if one implant ever has a problem. It takes two trips, usually 3 to 6 months apart.

All on 6 in Turkey means one fixed bridge of teeth held by six implants in a jaw. At Precious Dental in Antalya it is the option our dentists lean towards when the bone allows it, because the extra two implants share the load and give a margin of safety. This page covers why six can be better than four, who has the bone for it, how the two trips run, and the price.

Why six implants instead of four

A full-arch bridge is one rigid piece, so every bite is shared between the implants underneath it. With four, each implant carries a quarter of the work. With six, each carries a sixth, and the supports sit closer together, which shortens the stretch of bridge hanging unsupported between them.

The bigger practical difference shows up years later. If one implant in a four-implant bridge loses its bone bond, the remaining three may not be enough to load safely, so the bridge has to wait for a replacement. With six, five are often enough to keep you chewing while the problem is fixed. A 2024 review comparing four and six implants in the upper jaw found both approaches gave good survival, so this is about margin rather than one method being right and the other wrong.

Who has the bone for six

To fit six implants, the dentist needs enough width and height of bone along most of the jaw, not just at the front. In the lower jaw the limit is the nerve that runs along each side. In the upper jaw it is the sinus above the back teeth. People who have lost teeth recently, or whose teeth are failing but still in place, usually have more bone than people who have worn a denture for many years.

  • failing teeth in one or both jaws, with bone still reasonably thick
  • an upper jaw where the softer bone benefits from more supports
  • a strong bite, or a history of grinding, that loads the bridge heavily
  • a wish for extra spare support over the long term

Where bone is short at the back, the dentist may still reach six with a sinus lift or graft, or may recommend All-on-4 with tilted back implants. The 3D scan settles it, and the reason is written into your plan.

Planning from home

Send us photos of your teeth, any recent panoramic X-ray, and your medical history and medicines. Blood thinners, diabetes treatment and osteoporosis drugs all matter for surgery, so please list them all. A dentist then prepares a preliminary written plan with an itemised price, stating the number of implants for each jaw, the brand and the reasoning. You pay nothing to receive it.

How the treatment runs

  1. Day one: scan and final plan Full examination and a CBCT scan in our clinic. The dentist maps the six positions on the scan and confirms the final plan with you in writing.
  2. Extractions and implants Teeth that cannot be kept are removed at no charge. The six implants are placed in the same session under local anaesthetic. An anaesthetist can sedate you if you asked for it.
  3. Temporary bridge attached A fixed temporary set is screwed to the implants within your first stay, so you go home with teeth.
  4. Three to six months of healing About 3 months for the lower jaw, 4 to 6 months for the upper. Your coordinator stays in touch on WhatsApp and you can send photos if anything worries you.
  5. Final zirconia bridge On the second trip we scan again, try in the final teeth on a titanium bar, fine-tune the bite and fit them. You leave with aftercare in writing, an implant passport and copies of your scans.

Stay one includes 4 hotel nights, stay two includes 5, and transfers are covered both times. Our how it works page explains booking and travel.

The weeks after surgery

Expect swelling for a few days, often peaking on day two or three, with possible bruising on the cheeks after upper-jaw work. Cold packs, rest and the medication we give you help. Keep to soft food for the healing months and chew with the back of the temporary bridge rather than the front. Avoid smoking: it is one of the clearest risk factors for implants not bonding.

Cleaning around six implants takes a little longer than around four. A water flosser and small interdental brushes reach under the bridge where a toothbrush cannot. We show you how before you leave.

Risks and honest limits

  • Longer surgery. Two more implants mean a somewhat longer appointment and, for some, a bit more swelling.
  • More bone needed. Not every jaw can take six without grafting, and grafting adds cost and sometimes healing time.
  • Same long-term threat. Infection around implants, linked to plaque and smoking, is the main reason implants are lost years later. More implants do not cancel out poor cleaning.
  • Bridge repairs. Zirconia full-arch bridges can chip, and screws can loosen. Reviews report these as the commonest technical problems.
  • Not your old teeth. Fixed bridges feel solid, but there is no fine root feedback, and your face may look slightly different as the lip settles on the new teeth.

What the guarantee covers

Each implant and abutment has a lifetime guarantee, with a failed implant replaced once free. The bridge has 5 years. Keeping up hygiene, attending check-ups and wearing a night guard if you grind keeps the guarantee valid. Accident or sports damage is not covered. Guarantee work happens in Antalya, where we provide the hotel for the treatment time and you cover flights. See the guarantee page for the full wording.

Comparing your options

If you are torn between four and six, read All-on-4 next; the difference is mainly bone and margin. If a removable option appeals, implant-retained dentures use fewer implants. And if only part of a jaw needs work, single dental implants or bridges may keep more of your own teeth.

Start with a written plan

Send us an X-ray or photos and a dentist will prepare a written plan with the implant count per jaw, the brand and an itemised price, at no cost. Reach us through the contact page or on WhatsApp.

Common questions

How much more is All on 6 than All-on-4 with you?

Our All-on-6 is £6,500 for both jaws in total and our All-on-4 is £6,000 for both jaws in total. Both include the same items: implants, zirconia teeth, titanium bar, temporaries, extractions, X-rays, medication, hotel and transfers.

Do I need more bone for six implants?

Yes, usually a bit more along the length of the jaw. The 3D scan on day one shows whether six fit safely. If they do not, four tilted implants or a graft may be the better route.

Is surgery longer with six implants?

A little, because there are two more implants to place. Many patients choose sedation by an anaesthetist for full-arch surgery; ask for it when you book.

Can I mix six on top and four on the bottom?

Yes. Each jaw is planned on its own bone. Your written plan states the number and brand of implants for each jaw and why.

What happens if one of the six fails?

With six implants there is often enough support left to keep the bridge in use while a replacement is placed. A failed implant is replaced once free under our guarantee.
