Dental treatment in Turkey: your questions answered
The questions UK patients ask us most, grouped by topic. If yours is not here, message us and a coordinator will reply.
Dental treatment in Turkey can be safe when the clinic is licensed, the dentist is named, the plan and materials are written down and there is a clear guarantee. At Precious Dental you get all of that in writing before you book, with prices in pounds and a 3D scan on your first day.
Before you decide
Most questions fall into five groups: safety, cost, the trip, the treatment itself and aftercare at home. The answers below are short. Each links to a page with more detail, and you can always ask us directly.
- Safety: how to check a clinic, what “Turkey teeth” means and how we avoid over-treatment. See why patients choose us.
- Cost: our full price list in pounds and what is included.
- The trip: trips, nights and transfers in how it works.
- Treatment: every treatment explained on our treatments page.
- Aftercare: our written guarantee and what happens when you are home.
Still unsure? Send us a question on WhatsApp; a coordinator replies, and a dentist answers anything clinical.
Common questions
Is it safe to have dental treatment in Turkey?
It can be, if you choose carefully. Check the clinic is licensed by the Ministry of Health, ask who your dentist is and see their registration, get the plan and materials in writing, and understand the guarantee. The NHS and the Oral Health Foundation both publish advice for people going abroad, linked below.
What are “Turkey teeth”?
The phrase is used in the UK for smiles where healthy teeth were cut down for a full set of crowns, sometimes with problems afterwards. We prefer to keep healthy teeth, use veneers or bonding where they are enough, and show you how much tooth will be prepared before you agree.
How much will my treatment cost?
Our full price list is in pounds. For example, an implant is £300, a zirconia crown £150 and All-on-6 for both jaws £6,500. Your price is confirmed in writing after the 3D scan.
What is included?
Airport and clinic transfers. Implant and full-arch packages include four hotel nights on the first trip and five on the second; the zirconia crown package includes five nights. Extractions with implant treatment are free. Flights are not included.
How long do I need to stay?
Crowns, veneers and smile makeovers: one trip of about five to seven days. Implants and All-on-4 or All-on-6: two trips, three to six months apart.
Will I be without teeth between implant trips?
No. With full-arch treatment fixed temporary teeth are fitted on the first trip. For single implants in visible places we fit a temporary tooth.
Does treatment hurt?
Treatment is done under local anaesthetic, so you feel pressure rather than pain. After surgery most people have soreness and swelling for a few days, eased by ordinary painkillers. Sedation by an anaesthetist is available for surgery.
Can I have treatment if I have diabetes or take blood thinners?
Often yes, but tell us about every condition and medicine before you travel. The dentist may ask for a letter from your GP and will plan around your health.
Which implant brands do you use?
MegaGen, Neodent and Straumann, all at £300 per implant. The brand is on your plan and in your implant passport.
Do I pay a deposit?
No payment is needed to receive your plan. You pay at the clinic against the plan you agreed.
What guarantee do I get?
Lifetime on implants with abutments, five years on crowns, bridges and smile makeovers, three years on laminate veneers and one year on whitening. See the guarantee for what is not covered.
What if I have a problem when I am home?
Message your coordinator with photos. A dentist reviews them. Guarantee work is done at our clinic in Antalya; you pay flights and we provide the hotel.
Can my UK dentist look after my teeth afterwards?
Yes. Bring them your records and implant passport. Regular check-ups and hygiene visits at home are important for your teeth and for the guarantee.
Do you have a clinic or office in the UK?
No. We have a UK company, Precious Teeth Ltd (Companies House 14018597), but all examinations and treatment take place at our clinic in Antalya.
Can I bring someone with me?
Yes. Tell your coordinator so the hotel room and transfers are arranged for two. After sedation you must have someone with you.
Is my travel insurance valid for dental treatment?
Standard travel insurance usually excludes planned medical treatment abroad. Check with your insurer, and consider a policy that covers complications of treatment.
