Dental implants in Turkey at our Antalya clinic
One missing tooth or several: how we plan, place and restore implants, what the two trips involve and what you will pay.
Dental implants in Turkey at Precious Dental cost £300 per implant, whichever of our three brands is used, or £450 for one implant with a zirconia crown. Treatment takes two trips to Antalya, usually 3 to 6 months apart, while the bone heals around the implant. The implant and abutment carry our written lifetime guarantee.

Dental implants in Turkey are the treatment our UK patients ask about most, and this page sets out exactly how we provide them at Precious Dental in Antalya. You will find who implants suit, what happens on each of the two trips, how healing goes, what can go wrong and what it costs. We are the clinic that does the work, so where we describe our own habits we say so plainly.
What a dental implant actually is
An implant is a small threaded post, normally titanium, placed in the jawbone where a tooth root used to sit. In the weeks after placement, bone grows right up against its surface and locks it in. Once that bond is complete the post can carry a single crown, a bridge across several gaps, or a full arch of fixed teeth.
It helps to think of three parts. The implant itself is hidden in the bone. The abutment is a short connector that comes up through the gum. The crown is the tooth you see and chew with, and in our clinic that crown is usually zirconia. When a dentist talks about an implant failing, they normally mean the bone never bonded to the post, or bone was lost later because of infection around it. A chipped or loose crown is a separate, usually smaller, repair.
A big advantage over a conventional bridge is that the teeth either side of the gap are left alone. Nobody has to file them down to hold a false tooth.
Who implants suit, and when to slow down
Most adults with a missing tooth can be considered. Implants tend to work well for you if:
- you have lost one or more teeth, or have teeth that a dentist has said cannot be saved
- you would rather have fixed teeth than a plate that comes out
- your gums are healthy, or you are willing to have gum disease treated first
- your general health allows a minor operation under local anaesthetic
Some things need a frank conversation before anyone books flights. Smoking roughly doubles the chance of an implant failing in pooled research, so we will ask you to cut down or stop around surgery. Diabetes is usually fine when it is well controlled. Active gum disease, heavy grinding, and certain bone medicines such as bisphosphonates all change the plan. Please list every medicine you take on the form; it is one of the most useful things you can do.
We also prefer to keep a healthy tooth rather than remove it for an implant. If a tooth can be rescued with a filling, a root canal or a crown, the dentist will tell you so.
Why the 3D scan comes first
A flat X-ray shows the length of the bone but not its width. Our clinic has a 3D CBCT scanner, which shows the bone in every direction, the nerve that runs through the lower jaw and the floor of the sinus above the upper back teeth. The dentist plans the length, width and angle of each implant on that scan before any surgery.
Sometimes the scan shows the bone has shrunk too much since the tooth was lost. That is common, especially where a tooth has been missing for years. A small bone graft or a sinus lift can rebuild the area, and you can read how that works on our bone graft and sinus lift page.
How it works at our clinic, step by step
- Send us what you have Photos of your teeth or a recent dental X-ray, by WhatsApp or the contact form. No payment is needed to receive a plan.
- A dentist reviews it One of our dentists looks at your images and medical history, not a sales adviser.
- Preliminary written plan You get a plan with an itemised price, showing how many implants, which brand and why.
- Day one in Antalya Examination and 3D scan. The final plan is confirmed in writing before treatment starts, and you can ask for anything to be explained again.
- Placement The implants go in under local anaesthetic. If you are nervous, an anaesthetist can give sedation on request. Any teeth that need to come out are removed free of charge.
- Healing at home You fly home while the bone bonds to the implant. Expect about 3 months in the lower jaw and 4 to 6 months in the upper jaw.
- Second trip, final teeth We fit the abutments and crowns, check your bite and give you written aftercare, your implant passport and copies of your X-rays and scans.
The first stay includes 4 hotel nights and the second includes 5. Airport and clinic transfers are covered on both. More detail on the whole journey is on how it works.
Which implant brand, and does it matter?
We place MegaGen, Neodent and Straumann implants, and we charge the same for each. That is deliberate. We would rather the dentist chooses the system that fits your bone and your final teeth than have a price list nudge you towards one name. Whichever is used is written on your plan with the reason, and the batch details go into your implant passport. If you ever need a repair at home, a UK dentist can identify the parts from that passport.
Recovery after implant surgery
Most people describe the first two or three days as sore and a little swollen rather than painful. Ordinary painkillers usually manage it. You will be told to eat soft food on the other side, keep the area clean with gentle rinses, and avoid smoking, alcohol and hard exercise for the first days. Bruising can appear, particularly after work on the upper jaw, and fades within a week or two.
Many patients go sightseeing the day after a single implant. After several implants it is sensible to plan a quiet day. Your aftercare sheet is written, so you are not relying on memory once you are home.
Risks and honest limits
Implants have a long research record, but they are surgery and things can go wrong. The main risks are:
- The implant does not bond. It may feel loose or sore in the healing months. If so, it is removed, the site heals, and a new one is placed.
- Infection around the implant, early or years later. Gum disease around implants, called peri-implantitis, is the main long-term threat, and it is more likely if cleaning is poor.
- Nerve injury in the lower jaw, causing numbness of the lip or chin. It is uncommon, and planning on the 3D scan is how we keep a safe distance.
- Sinus problems after upper back implants or a sinus lift.
- Crown problems such as chipping or a loose screw, especially in people who grind.
For perspective, a 2019 review in the Journal of Dentistry pooled long-term studies and found about 96 in every 100 implants still in place after ten years. That is a figure from published research across many clinics, not a promise about any one mouth. Implants do not decay, but the gum and bone around them need the same daily care as natural teeth.

Our written guarantee
The implant and its abutment are guaranteed for life. If an implant fails, we replace it once free of charge. Crowns and bridges on implants have 5 years. To keep the guarantee valid you need to look after your hygiene, attend check-ups and wear a night guard if you grind; damage from sport or accidents is not covered. Guarantee work is done here in Antalya. You pay your own flights and we provide the hotel for the treatment period. Read the details on our guarantee page.
Implants or another option?
An implant is not always the answer. A gap next to two heavily crowned teeth might be better served by a bridge, which you can read about on crowns and bridges. If most of your teeth are failing, a full arch on four or six implants is usually simpler and cheaper than one implant per tooth; see All-on-4 and All-on-6. And if you mainly want a loose denture to stay put, two or more implants under a clip-on denture may be enough, explained on dentures. All-on-4® is a trademark of Nobel Biocare; we are not affiliated with any implant maker.
Ask for your written implant plan
Send us a recent X-ray or a few clear photos and a dentist will reply with a written plan and an itemised price, with no payment and no obligation. Use our contact form or message a coordinator on WhatsApp.
Common questions
How long will I be in Antalya for implants?
Two stays. The first, for placement, includes 4 hotel nights. The second, for the final teeth, includes 5 hotel nights. They are usually 3 to 6 months apart. See how it works.
Does the implant brand change the price?
No. MegaGen, Neodent and Straumann implants are all £300 per implant with us. The brand chosen for you, and the reason, is written on your plan.
Will I need a bone graft?
Only if the 3D scan shows the bone is too thin or too low. If you do, the graft or sinus lift is priced in your written plan before treatment. Read more on bone graft and sinus lift.
Can I have implants if I smoke or have diabetes?
Often yes, but both raise the risk of an implant not bonding to the bone. Tell us honestly at the start so the dentist can judge your case and advise you before any surgery.
What does the guarantee cover?
The implant and abutment are guaranteed for life, and a failed implant is replaced once free of charge. Crowns on implants have 5 years. Conditions apply, see our guarantee.
