Crowns in Turkey: dental crowns and bridges at our clinic
A crown rebuilds a damaged tooth; a bridge fills a gap using the teeth either side. This page explains the materials, the week in Antalya and the price.
Dental crowns in Turkey at Precious Dental cost £150 per tooth in zirconia or £225 for an E-max crown, and bridges are priced in your written plan. Most crown and bridge work is done in one trip of about 5 to 7 days in Antalya. Crowns and bridges carry a 5-year written guarantee.

Crowns in Turkey are one of the most common reasons UK patients contact us, whether they need one tooth rebuilt, an old crown replaced, or a gap closed with a bridge. At Precious Dental in Antalya we make dental crowns in zirconia and E-max, and we treat bridges as a serious alternative to implants rather than an afterthought. This page explains the difference between materials, what happens in your week with us, and the price.
What a crown does
A crown is a cap that covers the whole visible part of a tooth, down to the gum. It is used when a tooth has lost so much structure, through decay, large old fillings or a crack, that a filling alone would not hold. The crown holds the remaining tooth together and gives it a new biting surface.
To fit one, the dentist removes a layer from all sides of the tooth so the crown can sit over it without being bulky. That is more tooth removal than for a veneer, which is why we do not crown healthy teeth just to change their colour. We prefer to save healthy tooth structure where we can.
Zirconia, E-max and porcelain: what the words mean
Patients often ask for porcelain crowns. In everyday speech porcelain means any tooth-coloured ceramic, so it helps to be specific.
| Material | What it is good at | Where we use it |
|---|---|---|
| Zirconia | Very strong, metal-free, no grey line at the gum | Back teeth, bridges, most full-mouth cases |
| E-max (lithium disilicate) | More translucent, very lifelike | Single front teeth where appearance matters most |
| Metal-ceramic (porcelain on metal) | Long track record | Rarely now; zirconia has largely replaced it in our clinic |
A large review of single crowns found that metal-ceramic crowns and most all-ceramic types, zirconia and lithium disilicate among them, had good survival over five years, with ceramic chipping among the most common problems. So the choice is mostly about where the tooth is, how hard you bite, and how it needs to look. A detailed look at zirconia is on our zirconia crowns page.
Bridges: closing a gap without surgery
A bridge replaces a missing tooth by crowning the teeth either side of the gap and joining a false tooth between them. It is fixed in place and you clean it like your own teeth, with a special floss or small brush under the false tooth.
A bridge makes good sense when the neighbouring teeth already have large fillings or old crowns, because crowning them helps them anyway. It also avoids surgery and healing time, so it can all be done in one trip. The downside is that sound neighbouring teeth have to be cut down. If they are healthy and untouched, an implant usually protects them better, even though it means two trips.
Who crowns and bridges suit
- a tooth that is cracked, broken or mostly filling
- a back tooth after root canal treatment, which can become brittle
- old crowns with dark edges, chips or decay underneath
- one missing tooth between two teeth that already need crowns
Before any crown, the gums must be healthy and decay must be removed. If X-rays show infection at the root, that is treated first. A crown on a tooth with an unhealthy root is a crown on a weak foundation.
Your crown week, step by step
- From home Send a recent X-ray or clear photos. A dentist reviews them and sends a preliminary written plan with an itemised price, tooth by tooth. No payment needed.
- Day one in Antalya Examination, X-rays and, where needed, a 3D scan. The dentist checks each tooth's root and gum, then confirms the final plan in writing.
- Preparation and scan Under local anaesthetic the teeth are shaped and scanned with an intraoral scanner. Temporary crowns go on the same day.
- Laboratory days Crowns are designed and made from the scan. You have free days in Antalya.
- Try-in Fit, bite and shade are checked. If something is not right, it is changed before cementing.
- Fitting and aftercare The crowns or bridge are fixed, the bite is fine-tuned and you get written aftercare.
Most crown and bridge cases fit a single trip of about 5 to 7 days. With our zirconia package, 5 hotel nights are included, along with airport and clinic transfers. See how it works for booking.
Living with new crowns
Expect some sensitivity to cold for a few days, more so where a lot of tooth was removed. Your bite may feel high on one tooth at first; tell us before you leave so it can be adjusted. Clean along the gum line carefully, because the edge where crown meets tooth is where new decay starts. Interdental brushes are the easiest way to clean under a bridge.
Risks and honest limits
- The tooth underneath can still decay at the edge of the crown if cleaning slips.
- The nerve can react. A small number of crowned teeth, usually ones that were heavily damaged before, need root canal treatment later.
- Chips and cracks in ceramic, more likely in grinders who skip a night guard.
- Bridges depend on their supports. If one supporting tooth fails, the whole bridge is affected.
- Shade is fixed. Crowns do not whiten, so if you want your other teeth lighter, whiten them first.

Guarantee
Crowns and bridges are guaranteed in writing for 5 years. Root canal treatment, gum treatment and work done earlier by other dentists are outside it, and it can be reduced or void if check-ups are missed, hygiene slips or a grinder goes without a night guard. Guarantee repairs take place in Antalya, where we provide the hotel for the treatment period; flights are yours. Read the guarantee terms.

Common questions
Do you make porcelain crowns?
Porcelain is an everyday word for dental ceramics. Our crowns are all-ceramic: zirconia, or E-max for some front teeth. We rarely make the older metal-based porcelain crowns now, because zirconia avoids the grey edge at the gum.
Is a crown or a veneer better for my front tooth?
If the tooth is healthy, a veneer keeps more of it. If it is heavily filled, cracked or root-treated, a crown protects it better. Read veneers to compare.
How is a bridge priced?
Your written plan lists each part of the bridge separately, so you can see the cost before treatment. There is no single bridge price because bridges vary in length and material.
Will my crowned tooth need a root canal?
Not usually. Some teeth that were already deeply decayed or heavily filled may need one later. The dentist checks the nerve on X-ray before crowning.
What does the 5-year guarantee cover?
The crown or bridge itself, if it fails in normal use. It does not cover root canal treatment or damage from accidents. See our guarantee.
